Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh visited MacKillop College
Swan Hill today to meet with two students he has sponsored to participate in the ConocoPhillips Science Experience program.
The three day program encourages students in year nine and ten to consider science engineering and technology as interesting worthwhile subjects and career choices.
The two students selected for 2017 are Bailey Tobias and Tahlia Lorimer.
Mr Walsh said it was certainly his pleasure to support Bailey and Tahlia and he hopes that the experience lives up to their expectations and more.
“Bailey has chosen to undertake the program at Federation University in Ballarat while Tahlia will attend the Dookie campus of Melbourne University.
“Science as a subject is universal and knows no boundaries.
“The program will provide Bailey and Tahlia with unique training in observation and reasoning which will stand them in good stead wherever their academic lives lead them “ he said.
Mr Walsh also thanked Science teacher Nick Danaher who has encouraged the students in their endeavours.
“Quality teaching and a supportive school environment have given Bailey and Tahlia this opportunity for an enriched education experience “ he said.
