Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh is inviting the community to nominate local
high achievers for the Victorian Regional Achievement and Community Awards.
Mr Walsh said the awards encourage and reward the valuable contribution individuals businesses groups and organisations are making in regional and rural Victoria.
“They provide the perfect opportunity to recognise our leaders and innovators across a diverse range of sectors “ he said.
The Regional Achievement and Community Awards began in 2002 and have grown to become one of the most prestigious Awards programs in Regional Victoria.
Mr Walsh said there can never be enough encouragement and support for those working in regional and rural areas.
“We have many individuals groups programs and businesses across the Murray Plains Electorate that are worthy of nomination.
“In 2015 The Great Aussie Beer Shed & Heritage Farm Museum in Echuca won the Customer Service Award and I know we have many individuals groups programs and businesses across the Murray Plains Electorate capable of taking out an award in 2016.
“I encourage community members to make a nomination and show our leaders and businesses that we appreciate their achievements “ Mr Walsh said.
Category winners will each receive $2 000 from Bank of Melbourne or an airtime package on the Prime 7 network.
Nominations close on Wednesday 20 July 2016 with judging taking place on Wednesday 31 August 2016.
