Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh is supporting the 2016-17 Victorian Young Achievers Awards by calling for nominations from the Murray Plains electorate.
“We have so many very talented and community minded young people in our community who deserve to be acknowledged for their efforts ” Mr Walsh said
“These awards provide us with an opportunity to say thank you to those young people at state level.”
Mr Walsh said the search is on for nominations for young people up to 29 years of age for the awards which aim to encourage reward and promote the positive achievements of young Victorians.
Nominations are being sought across a number of categories ranging from Arts and Fashion to Community Service and Leadership plus a category for Group Achievement in the Community and the Small Business Achievement Awards.
Nominations are now open and will close on 1st December 2016. The awards will culminate with an Awards Gala Presentation Dinner in May 2017 when one of the category winners will be declared the 2017 Victorian Young Achiever of the Year.
Mr Walsh said there is not a reason in the world why that person could not be a young adult from the Murray Plains electorate.
“As I travel the electorate I meet so many impressive young people who work passionately to promote the values of country life and all that it offers.
“I encourage all community members to consider nominating a young person who inspires them ” Mr Walsh said.
