Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh said ABS figures released today showed the Andrews Labor Government had failed to create jobs and opportunity in the Kerang district.
Australian Bureau of Statistics figures released today show 12 815 full-time jobs have been lost in north-west Victoria since Daniel Andrews came to office.
“These jobs figures are terrible but sadly they come as no surprise “ Mr Walsh said.
“Each month these figures are released we see that thousands of full-time jobs have been lost under the Andrews Labor Government.
“The Andrews Government’s so-called Back to Work initiative has clearly failed and they are not funding jobs-creating infrastructure projects in our region.
“Under 15 months of this city-centric government we have seen thousands of full-time jobs lost TAFE enrolments plummet and $1.1 billion wasted on cancelling the East West Link in Melbourne.
“Daniel Andrews needs to start delivering jobs and opportunity for our region before this situation gets any worse.”
