An elected Liberal Nationals government will build the new Echuca Specialist School giving students and staff a much-needed modern new home at the Twin Rivers Primary School.
Member for Murray Plains and Leader of The Nationals Peter Walsh was joined by Shadow Minister for Education Tim Smith today at the Echuca Specialist School to announce $11 million to build the new school.
Our commitment means 100-plus students and 40 staff will get a new fit-for-purpose school that is integrated with Echuca’s other education facilities.
Our commitment means students and staff will no longer have to endure woefully inadequate portable buildings that fail to meet their needs.
As the only Specialist School in our region taking in students from an area spanning Cohuna and Kyabram this overdue school upgrade is vitally important to give our children the high quality education and support they deserve.
By contrast the Andrews Labor Government has failed year after year to complete the merging of Echuca’s schools.
When Daniel Andrews was elected he tried to throw out plans for an inclusive education hub which had been developed by the former Liberal Nationals government in close consultation with parents and staff at Echuca South Echuca West and Echuca Specialist schools.
The next Liberal Nationals Government will right Labor’s wrong and deliver this vitally important school upgrade for students their families and staff.

The next Liberal Nationals Government will provide the funding and support our community needs to build this much-needed new Specialist School for students their families and staff.
Every child is entitled to the best start in life no matter where you live but Daniel Andrews and Labor have failed to deliver for our community.
Echuca families will get a better deal on schools and education if The Nationals are in government in November.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education Tim Smith
The Liberal Nationals are side-by-side with the Echuca school community and we will make sure this new school gets built.
We understand how important this project is and we will help turn it from vision to reality for the Echuca school community by investing the funds needed.
Daniel Andrews and Labor have failed to deliver a vital education service that Echuca families need and deserve but the Liberal Nationals in government will make sure this new school happens.
