Member for Murray Plains and Leader of The Nationals Peter Walsh has welcomed this morning’s formal announcement that the next construction phase of the National Broadband Network (NBB) will include the cities of Swan Hill and Echuca.
Mr Walsh said the cities were experiencing strong growth and the NBN announcement is great news to secure that growth well into the future.
“The provision of fast broadband to our regional communities will boost established industry and small business and encourage new investment to create the employment and wealth that keeps our communities thriving “ he said.
The NBN Co quarterly plan announced this morning provides an indicative schedule that includes work already underway or in plan to commence quarter end September 2016 and covers around 570 000 Victorian homes and businesses in total.
“This is indeed exciting and very welcome news “ Mr Walsh said.
