A brand new CFA station will be built at Leitchville under an elected Nationals government to make sure our local volunteers are best placed to protect our community Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh announced today.
Mr Walsh announced the $500 000 commitment in Leitchville today with the investment to fund construction of a new CFA station at the existing site.
“Leitchville’s CFA is an invaluable asset to the local community protecting our communities when we need help the most” Mr Walsh said.
“The local CFA desperately needs a new shed to replace the current outdated facilities that are too small to fit new tankers.
“I’m pleased to announce an elected Liberal Nationals government will give our local CFA a boost with a $500 000 investment in two new truck bays a community meeting room and upgraded kitchen.”
Construction of a new station is the first step to getting a new truck in the district with the current shed too small to fit new appliances.
“The Leitchville CFA not only protects our local community they also actively support others sending available volunteers for strike teams to fight bushfires in other fire districts” Mr Walsh said.
“New facilities will help the Leitchville brigade to attract and retain volunteers and better support the next generation of firefighters.
“Daniel Andrews has fought tooth-and-nail to tear our CFA apart. Unlike Labor The Nationals will fight to protect those who protect us.”
