The Kerang CFA Brigade will benefit from the supply of a new Heavy Tanker being delivered as a result of design and planning works undertaken by the Liberal/Nationals in government.
Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh said the Kerang tanker was one of 40 currently being built for use across the state.
“This is great news for Kerang and a legacy of the Liberal/Nationals massive $65.8 million investment in CFA infrastructure and resources while in government “ Mr Walsh said.
“I can’t speak highly enough of the remarkable and selfless job our CFA volunteers do in protecting their community from fire and I know that the new tanker will be a great asset to our local brigade.
The new truck is an Iveco Eurocargo Prototype Heavy Tanker Crew Cab Chassis (4×4) and is set to be passed into the hands of the brigade in May 2016.
“It will provide a new level of service and important upgraded safety measures for the volunteers “ Mr Walsh said.
“In government I was proud of the commitment made to the CFA and its volunteers and I am pleased to see that the new vehicles are finally being delivered across the state.”
