Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh was on hand to present science scholarship funding to two Swan Hill College students this week.
Nariel Garcia and Daniel Hughes received Mr Walsh’s scholarships to enable them to attend ConocoPhillips Science Experience Program at the University of Melbourne in 2017.
Mr Walsh said he was pleased to sponsor local students to the Program which aims to introduce them to a wide range of science and encourage their interest.
The scholarships assist with registration accommodation and travel costs for the students.
“This experience will be invaluable for Nariel and Daniel. It will provide a great backdrop for them in developing their interests and possible future careers in science engineering and technology.
“The program is aimed at students in Years 9 and 10 and involves hands-on activities as well as interactive lectures from prominent scientists and visits to research and industry sites ” Mr Walsh said.
