The Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh has described today’s State Budget as a bitter disappointment for the staff students and families of Echuca Specialist School.
Mr Walsh said the Andrews Labor Government had promised big but delivered little for regional education completely overlooking the desperately-needed investment in the Echuca Specialist School.
“I am bitterly disappointed Echuca has missed out again in a Labor budget that pours $25 billion into metro cost blowouts and goes nowhere to relieving the growing cost of living” Mr Walsh said.
“This news is devastating for good people who deserve so much better.
“The Premier for Melbourne Daniel Andrews and his Treasurer Tim Pallas should hang their heads in shame.”
Mr Walsh said the fight was far from over.
“I will continue to highlight this gross inequality at every opportunity until the students of Echuca Specialist School are offered the same educational opportunities as their peers” Mr Walsh said.
“The Premier for Melbourne has again handed Echuca families a raw deal. Only an elected Nationals government will deliver a better deal for education in Echuca.”
