Today we have launched our comprehensive Real Solutions Plan.
This Plan is without doubt the most comprehensive policy agenda ever taken to a Victorian election.
For the past four years we have listened to Victorians, and what matters to you.
For two of those years, we shared with you the terrible experience of the COVID pandemic and the damaged caused to families, individuals, businesses and our communities by Daniel Andrews’ world-record lockdowns.
Together, this listening and shared experiences has helped shape our policy agenda, which is focused around six key themes:
- Fixing the healthcare crisis without raising taxes;
- Putting an end to Daniel Andrews’ era of spiralling debt and higher taxes;
- Rewarding hard-working Victorian families;
- Helping small business;
- Restoring integrity and accountability in government; and
- Building stronger communities.
Underpinning these six themes are nearly 200 separate policies.
We are acutely aware of the level of debt Victoria is facing, and fiscal responsibility is central to our Plan.
Unlike Daniel Andrews, we understand that you can’t have it all.
Victorians know that the state simply can’t afford to build the $35 billion Cheltenham to Box Hill rail line, and fix the most pressing issue facing Victorian – the health crisis.
So, that’s why we have taken the difficult decision to shelve that rail line, and instead redirect every available cent to fixing the health crisis.
Additionally – our policies and plans are relatively financially modest, targeted and in some instances time-limited due the constrained fiscal environment we will inherit, should we be privileged to be elected to government.
Our full and comprehensive Real Solutions Plan demonstrates that we are safe, we are sensible, and we are mainstream.
We are ready to govern.
