The Liberal Nationals strongly support shutting down cruel and illegal pet breeders in Victoria.
We have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to treating pets cruelly and inhumanely.
A Liberal Nationals Government will maintain Victoria’s strict laws and regulations with respect to domestic dog and cat breeding.
Current laws will not be changed.
The regulation of domestic animals must focus on animal welfare outcomes.
We also believe courts should hand down strong punishments to anyone caught treating pets cruelly or being negligent in their care for them.
These laws must also provide transparency so Victorians can be assured they are sourcing happy healthy and reputably bred pets for their families.
