Three days prior to Christmas the Andrews Government released its proposed changes to the Education and Training Reform Regulations.
I don’t think many people outside the government actually are aware that the review is now open for public feedback and I write to encourage educators and parents of school children to take a proactive role in this review.
The draft regulations cover a wide range of areas including regulations around home schooling school bus programs and how school councils and parent’s clubs are run.
I encourage parents and educators to read the consultation paper carefully and make a submission in areas of interest.
It is important that all families educating their children in country settings have a say in how education is regulated in this state and inform the final design and implementation of the new regulations with their experiences and common sense.
The public consultation period will close on the 28th February 2017 and the link to the government website on the proposed changes can be found at
