Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh is encouraging interested Murray Plains constituents to make a submission on a recently released Planning for Golf in Victoria Discussion Paper.
The Discussion Paper aims to support golf to be sustainable and grow into the future.
Mr Walsh said that traditionally golf has been one of country Victoria’s most popular sports and has made an important contribution to the economic social and health benefits of the state.
“As I travel around the electorate I am aware that golf clubs in country settings are beginning to face key challenges around participation membership supply and demand land use and governance.
“The Planning for Golf in Victoria Discussion Paper presents an important opportunity for rural and regional golfing enthusiasts to have their say on the short and long term future of the sport they love “ Mr Walsh said.
“A special Planning for Golf in Victoria Task Force will consider all submissions received and make final recommendations to the government on ways to support the long-term growth and sustainability of golf.
I encourage local golfers and other interested parties to make good use of this opportunity by making a submission to the Task Force “ Mr Walsh said.
The Discussion Paper is available at engage.vic.gov.au/planning-golf-victoria. Submissions must be made in writing and can be submitted via the website or posted to:
