Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains congratulated the Rochester CFA on their successful application to the Emergency Services Volunteers Sustainability Grant Program (ESVS)
The fully volunteer Rochester brigade has been allocated $4 470 to help with the purchase of new lighting to bolster their operational equipment “ Mr Walsh said.
The ESVS Grants program is an ongoing government program to ensure emergency management volunteers can continue to deliver their crucial work to keep Victorians safe.
“Volunteer emergency services play a crucial role right across the Murray Plains electorate in the face of difficult and quite often extreme circumstances “ he said.
“The services they offer provide a level of comfort to the community in that skilled and immediate assistance that would not otherwise be available is always at the ready.
“They are selfless in their efforts to protect lives and property and it is incumbent on any government to make sure the volunteers are well equipped to protect the community.
“The Rochester CFA is most deserving of this funding “ Mr Walsh said.
