Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh congratulated the Echuca SES unit on its successful application to the Emergency Services Volunteers Sustainability Grant Program (ESVS)
The fully volunteer unit has been allocated $39 909.10 to help with the purchase of a new light tower and trailer “ Mr Walsh said.
The ESVS Grants Program is an ongoing government program to ensure emergency management volunteers can continue to deliver their crucial work to keep Victorians safe.
“Volunteer emergency services play a crucial role right across the Murray Plains electorate in the face of difficult and quite often extreme circumstances “ he said.
“The services they offer provide a level of comfort to the community in that skilled and immediate assistance that would not otherwise be available is always at the ready.
“The volunteers are selfless in their efforts to protect lives and property and the services they offer are so often underpinned by their own resources and expertise.
“It is great to see the Echuca SES unit supported with government funding to bolster their operational equipment “ Mr Walsh said.
