Motivation inspiration and life changing advice from an impressive variety of services was provided to Echuca Moama students at the Echuca Moama Youth Expo – “Bridging the Gap” held in the Stubberfield Stadium today.
The Expo is a key initiative of Campaspe Cohuna Local Learning and Employment Network (CCLLEN) under the guidance of Employment Network project worker Cheryl Sweeney.
Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains was treated to a guided tour of the expo today led by Beacon Student Leaders Conni Nicholson and Kaiji Pedler.
Mr Walsh was very impressed with the overall presentation of the expo which included a wide range of youth health and welfare services and community groups in a market style.
“The world is continuing to change and is becoming more and more challenging “ Mr Walsh said.
“As technology continues to advance the importance of real life social connectedness among our young people takes even higher prominence.
“The expo was a valuable step in making sure they are well informed of the networks and support services available to them and the opportunities for them to volunteer in their own community” he said.
“I congratulate Cheryl Sweeney and her CCLLEN team for organizing such engaging presentations and managing 1 100 students going through in 4.5 hours.”
Mrs Sweeney said she was thrilled with the day and very appreciative of the efforts of our local service providers sporting clubs and health and well-being agencies who were there to encourage and support the young students.
