Member for Murray Plains and Leader of The Nationals Peter Walsh has encouraged the community to nominate a project or a local hero for this year’s Victorian Landcare Awards.
The biennial awards recognize the significant efforts by the many individuals groups networks and organisations who contribute to the sustainable care of Victoria’s natural resources.
Mr Walsh said the awards are an important mechanism to promote environmental responsibility and ensure our rural communities will be strengthened and sustained for the generations to follows
“I commend the many individuals and groups across the Murray Plains electorate who are extremely proactive in natural resource management and environmental responsibility.
“They play a vitally important role in setting local and regional priorities and I strongly encourage them to nominate their groups and projects for recognition in these awards “ he said.
