Echuca’s American Hotel has again stood tall against its peers in a showcase of Victoria’s very best hotel and hospitality venues says Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh
The 2015 Australian Hotels Association (AHA) (Vic) State Awards for Excellence were held in Melbourne last Monday and the American Hotel was a finalist in four diverse categories and took home the State Award for Best Outdoor – Non Enclosed Area.
“An outstanding field of nominees and finalists took part in the prestigious awards and I warmly congratulate Dean and Renee Oberin on their marvellous achievements.
“This is the second big win for them and these wins certainly don’t come without a lot of hard work “ Mr Walsh said.
The American Hotel Echuca-Moama’s oldest pub was re-opened by the Oberin family after extensive renovations and extensions in 2013.
“Excellent hospitality venues such as The American are the driving force behind our region’s thriving tourism economy and play a critically important role in ensuring it continues to flourish “ Mr Walsh said.
“The state award is an invaluable investment in the future of our region and I pay tribute to the Oberin family and the many other hardworking committed and dedicated small business people who work together to make our tourism industry what it is “ he said.
