Walsh Issues Invitation to Parliament House Open Day
15 February 2016
Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh has issued an invitation to the constituents of the Murray Plains electorate to visit Parliament House for it’s annual Open Day on Sunday 6 March 2016.
“The day offers visitors the chance to explore areas of Parliament not usually open to the public,”
Mr Walsh said.
“Visitors can sit in the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council Chambers, visit the Parliamentary Library, and enjoy morning and afternoon tea in the Member’s Dining Room.
“They can also visit the committee room, see the Speaker’s and members’ offices and have lunch in the parliamentary gardens.”
This year’s Open Day is celebrating the 160th anniversary of the Victorian Parliament.
Mr Walsh said entry was free and there would be exhibits from all departments.
“This is a great opportunity for Victorians to see their Parliament and to gain an appreciation of the architecture of the building,” Mr Walsh said.
