The Nationals leader and Member for Murray Plains, Peter Walsh, has confirmed if elected the Liberals Nationals will guarantee the Victorian Government’s $3 million share of the proposed multimillion dollar redevelopment of Victoria Park.
Mr Walsh says the Campaspe Shire masterplan has been forced to take a seat on the sidelines through the construction and opening of the new Echuca bridge.
But now he says it should move near the top of the list as its “exciting community potential” is an asset the whole community deserves.
“The cornerstone of the next phase in this long-term project is the shire knowing the money is coming from the government – and if we are elected that’s an ironclad commitment,” Mr Walsh says.
“As I understand things, the Victoria Park part of the masterplan extends to the Scenic Drive area, which makes the project even more important as this is a high-use area for tourists as well as locals and it will add to the whole Echuca experience,” he says.
“I am delighted to be able to be at training tonight as Echuca Football Club prepares for another grand final success and let the club as well as the rest of the town know the Liberals Nationals are here to deliver what Echuca needs.”
