Women serving on community or government boards or committees of management across Victoria should consider applying for a sponsored scholarship to boost their skills Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh said today.
Applications are now open for the Victorian Women’s Board Leadership Program ‘“ an initiative that strengthens the governance of boards by funding opportunities for women to expand their board skills.
“The scholarship program is being run in partnership with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD)” Mr Walsh said.
“It provides eligible women governance training mentoring and networking to advance their board careers.”
Mr Walsh said he appreciated the importance of encouraging more women to take on board leadership roles in rural and regional Victoria.
“I strongly support and encourage women across the Murray Plains electorate to take up this opportunity to boost their board skills and enhance their opportunities to network with other emerging women leaders” he said.
“This really is a wonderful training opportunity.”
To be eligible the applicant must live in Victoria and have experience on a board or committee of management. Current board directors must be serving on a Victorian Government board or a not-for-profit board.
Applications are now open and will close on 22nd June 2018 and the program will commence in October 2018.
