Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh has called for local youth groups and organisations to apply for grants to fund 2016 National Youth Week celebrations.
National Youth Week is an annual week-long celebration of Australia’s young people – aged between 12 and 25 – and will take place from April 8 next year.
“I’m pleased that young people will again be supported to express their creative talents and address important issues in their community as part of National Youth Week 2016 “ he said.
“The week will provide a great opportunity for young people across the Murray Plains Electorate to celebrate and be acknowledged for their tremendous contributions to our communities “
Grants up of to $2 000 will be available and Mr Walsh is encouraging community organisations that work with young people across the electorate to apply.
“National Youth Week activities play a meaningful role in creating a community conversation about issues of importance to young people “ Mr Walsh said
Applications for National Youth Week 2016 grants close on Friday 13 November 2015.
Guidelines and the application form can be found at the Youth Central website www.youthcentral.vic.gov.au/nyw
