The announcement of 109 new or upgraded mobile towers across the state is great
news for the residents of Lalbert.
Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh said being stuck with no phone coverage or
constant drop-outs was not only frustrating but terribly isolating.
“The federal funding announced this week to build a base station at Lalbert
will give a tremendous boost to the community Mr Walsh said.
“The Victorian Coalition invested up to $40 million in 2014 to make this upgrade happen
and I am proud to see our hard work come to fruition.”
Mr Walsh said not only would better phone coverage make it easier to keep in touch
with family and friends and to do business it would provide locals with better access to emergency services.
“It is fantastic to see the Victorian Coalition’s hard work pay off to fix the mobile phone coverage issues that have
plagued rural communities for years.”
“This is a great outcome for Lalbert “ Mr Walsh said.
