Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh has used State Parliament to draw attention to the need for funding to progress the vision for a combined new primary school in Echuca West.
The project would combine Echuca South Echuca West and Echuca Specialist School on a greenfields site.
“These three schools agreed to merge in 2007 and since that time they have worked co-operatively and they have done everything the department has asked of them.”
Mr Walsh said the project has been endorsed by all school councils the master plan has been submitted to the department for review and subsequent approval and the Schematic Design has now been signed off.
“The staff and students of Echuca West Echuca South and Echuca Specialist School have worked long and hard to achieve this outcome and they deserve a permanent home and facilities to take them into the future.
“All that is needed now is a commitment in the May Budget by Minister Melino to enable the school communities to take the next steps towards bringing their exciting vision to fruition “ Mr Walsh said.
