Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh has called for nominations for the 2018 Victorian Aboriginal Honour Roll.
“The Honour Roll recognizes aboriginal people who have made a real and lasting contribution to their communities and to Victoria” Mr Walsh said
“The Murray Plains electorate is home to many hard working and dedicated aboriginal people who have devoted much of their lives to their communities.
“It can be identified by a willingness to look after community to maintain and protect traditions to have a keen understanding of social justice issues affecting aboriginal people and to listen and find consensus among their people.
“I know there are many deserving aboriginal people who are quietly working in their communities across the electorate and I encourage both the aboriginal and the wider community to identify them by submitting a nomination.
“It offers a great opportunity to tell the story of inspirational aboriginal people who have made important contributions to our communities across the electorate.”
Nominations for the 2018 Honour Roll will be open until midnight Sunday 27 May 2018.
