LOCAL GROUPS BENEFIT FROM EMERGENCY SERVICES GRANTS
Tuesday 21st November 2017
Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh has congratulated local emergency volunteer groups who received funding as part of the 2017-18 Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP).
Emergency volunteer groups in the Murray Plains Electorate include :
Kerang CFA ($29,769.00)
Lalbert CFA ($1,333.00)
Quambatook CFA ($2,200)
Mr Walsh said our local emergency volunteers do a wonderful job protecting the community and these grants will help to ensure they have the equipment and facilities to do the job.
“They will also take the pressure of volunteers having to go out on the street rattling the tins and running sausage sizzles – it frees up a lot of volunteer time that can be spent more productively.
“Our country communities are built on the backs of our volunteers and I take this opportunity to once again thank our tireless community volunteers who give their own time and expertise to keep our communities safe.”
