Local Brigades to Receive Project Funding

Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh has congratulated local fire brigades on their successful applications for this year’s Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program.

“Our country communities have enormous respect for the amazing efforts of our CFA volunteers.

“They play a critically important role in protecting our rural and regional communities from bushfires, structural fires and other emergencies, and in helping individuals and communities to recover from such disasters.

“The funding will assist fire brigades in the Murray Plains electorate to keep their communities safe,” Mr Walsh said.

Successful local brigades include :

Kerang           -           equipment

Boort               -           minor works

Cohuna         -           minor works

Beverford & District   -  Amenities

Swan Hill       -           minor works

Ultima             -           amenities

 “I congratulate all these brigades in my electorate who have been successful in this funding round and offer my best wishes for their wellbeing and safety during the coming fire season,” Mr Walsh said.
