Labor threatens 100 jobs in regional Victoria

Monday 26 March 2018

One hundred jobs in regional Victoria could be axed if the Andrews Labor Government cuts the successful kangaroo pet food trial.

The trial’s current extension ends later this week.

Premier Daniel Andrews and his Agriculture Minister Jaala Pulford hold the future of Victoria’s pet food processors, and at least 100 jobs the industry has created, in their hands.

The Liberal Nationals have promised to make the kangaroo pet food trial permanent and expand it to include deer, if elected in November.

Daniel Andrews and Jaala Pulford must give the industry certainty now.

Daniel Andrews is failing to support industry in regional Victoria because he is terrified of growing support for the Greens in Labor’s inner-city electorates.

Labor’s lack of action is condemning prosperous businesses and industries in regional Victoria.
