Grants For Kindergartens Up For Grabs
Thursday 19th April 2017
Kindergartens across the Murray Plains Electorate are being encouraged to apply for funding for refurbishments and to improve their IT capabilities.
Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh, said applications have opened for the Children’s Facilities Capital Program.
“There are three categories of funding open to kindergartens, designed to improve access for all abilities, increase the useable space of facilities and to upgrade IT systems or purchase new devices,” he said.
The three categories are:
- Minor infrastructure expansion grants of up to $25,000, to increase useable spaces;
- Minor infrastructure refurbishment grants of up to $10,000 to improve spaces used by children, particularly where access can be improved to all abilities; and
- Information technology grants of up to $1500 to purchase laptops, desktops, tables and televisions used for learning programs or administrative purposes.
“These grants can save a lot of fundraising work often completed by volunteers, educators and parents, so I encourage all local providers to apply,” Mr Walsh said.
Mr Walsh said applications, to be submitted online, close 4pm on June 6.
