Equipment Upgrade for Rochester CFA
Friday 17th February 2017
The Rochester CFA has received a funding boost under the first round of the Emergency Services Volunteer Sustainability Grants Program.
Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh said the brigade had applied for new lighting and has been successful with a grant of $4,470.
Mr Walsh said volunteers do a huge amount of fundraising in order to apply for matching funding and any extra support they receive goes a long way.
“I know the volunteers will be very pleased with the upgrade to their operational equipment. I can’t speak highly enough of the remarkable and selfless job they do in protecting their community from fire and the risk of fire and I am delighted to see that effort rewarded,” Mr Walsh said.
“Despite this good news, the crisis the CFA volunteers face under Daniel Andrews is still far from over.”
“The CFA is an integral part of rural and regional communities like Rochester and it is a disgrace that Daniel Andrews and his union mates have shown such a disregard and disrespect for the tremendous work CFA volunteers do,” Mr Walsh said.
