VicHealth Innovation Challenge Grants - Sport
Thursday 29th September 2016
Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh is encouraging sporting bodies from across the Murray Plains electorate to apply for VicHealth Innovation Challenge – Sport funding.
Mr Walsh said the funding program is looking for clever ideas to get more Victorians physically active by taking community sport in a new direction.
“It is often groups experiencing higher levels of disadvantage who find themselves sitting on the sidelines,” Mr Walsh said.
“The challenge of this funding program is to find new places to play sport or change the way sporting venues are used in the community,” he said.
The most promising and innovative ideas will share in a total funding pool of $500,000 to test new ideas and make a real impact.
Funding requests can be made for an amount. The typical funding grant is anywhere between $30,000 to $100,000 but it varies with each project and context.
VicHealth will accept submissions until Friday 21 October at 3 pm EST.

“I encourage sporting bodies from across the electorate to rise to the Challenge and develop ideas for more flexible and fun sport, more places to play, and more sport for everyone,” Mr Walsh said.
