My office’s most important role is to assist people in my electorate who have run into difficulty in their dealings with State Government departments. Constituents with problems can visit, write or telephone my office for referral to appropriate agencies. You will always find advice, support and the practical assistance you need.

Congratulatory messages

Congratulatory messages from the Premier and local MPs for special birthdays (90 and 100 years old) and wedding anniversaries (Golden - 50 years, and Diamond - 60 years) can be arranged through my office. A copy of the birth or marriage certificate should be brought in, or if these are not available, a Statutory Declaration is necessary.

The Prime Minister responds for 90th/100th birthday and Golden and Diamond Anniversaries.
The Governor of Victoria – 100th birthdays, Golden and Diamond Anniversaries.
The Governor-General and the Queen – 100th birthdays and Diamond Anniversaries.
Australia Day Council – 100th birthdays.

Overseas student kits

Kits promoting Victoria are available to local students travelling overseas on long term exchange programs. The kits assist students to act as ambassadors for Victoria and include some promotional ‘giveaways’. A written request should be forwarded to me at my Swan Hill office, including the student’s name, contact details, school attended, country being visited and the date of departure.

Victorian Flags

A State Member of Parliament can recommend to the Department of Premier & Cabinet that a Victorian flag is made available to approved community groups or organisations.

Eligible community groups, who have a use for a State flag, that believe they can contribute greater publicity to, and knowledge of the State Flag and can display the flag on an external flagpole or at public meetings, should approach my office.

Application forms for Seniors Cards

Constituents who are 60 years and over can collect an application form for a Seniors Card from my office. The Seniors Card entitles them to some transport concessions as well as discounts and special offers covering accommodation, hospitality, retailing, entertainment, sport, culture, further education, travel, health and fitness. Card holders receive a directory of participating businesses, which also display the Seniors Card symbol in their shop windows.

Change of address forms for electoral roll

It is important that you are registered under the correct address on the electoral roll. If you have moved, we can provide you with the simple form you must complete to change your address.

Information about community group grants, including VicHealth

In addition to Government grants, many corporations and philanthropic trusts also make funds available for special purposes. We can help you to seek this information out.
