Services
Services my office provides are:
State Government Departments
My office’s most important role is to assist people in my electorate who have run into difficulty in their dealings with State Government departments.
Constituents with problems can visit, write and telephone my office regarding a referral to appropriate agencies. You will always find advice, support and the practical assistance you need.
Congratulatory Messages
Congratulatory messages for special anniversaries can be arranged through my office.
- The Prime Minister responds to requests acknowledging 90th and 100th birthdays and Golden and Diamond Anniversaries.
- The Governor-General and the Queen will send messages for 100th birthdays and Diamond Anniversaries.
- The Governor of Victoria responds to 100th birthdays, Golden and Diamond Anniversaries.
- The Premier and local MPs respond to special birthdays (90 and 100 years old) and wedding anniversaries (Golden - 50 years, and Diamond - 60 years).
- Australia Day Council to 100th birthdays.
A copy of the birth or marriage certificate should be brought in when making the request, or if these aren’t available, a Statutory Declaration is necessary.
Victorian Flags
A State Member of Parliament can recommend to the Department of Premier & Cabinet that a Victorian flag is made available to approved community groups or organisations.
Eligible community groups, who have a use for a State flag and who believe they can contribute greater publicity to, and knowledge of, the State Flag and can display the flag on an external flagpole or at public meetings, should approach my office.
Seniors card applications
Constituents who are 60 years and over can collect an application form for a Seniors Card from my office.
The Seniors Card entitles holders to certain transport concessions as well as discounts and special offers covering accommodation, hospitality, retailing, entertainment, sport, culture, further education, travel, health and fitness. Card holders receive a directory of participating businesses, which also display the Seniors Card symbol in their shop windows.
Electoral Roll forms
It is important that you are registered under the correct address on the electoral roll. If you have moved we can provide you with the simple form you must complete to change your address.
Grants
There are many Grants available to community groups from both State and Federal level.
