Invitation To Parliament House

Friday 3rd March 2017

Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh  has issued an invitation to the constituents of the Murray Plains Electorate to visit Parliament House for the Open Day on Sunday 19 March 2017 between 10.30 am and 3.30 pm.

“This is great opportunity for people to have a look at Parliament House and the gardens,” Mr. Walsh said.

“Visitors can see Queen’s Hall, the two Chambers, the Parliamentary Library and enjoy a walk through the gardens.

“There will also be a variety of  musical performances to be enjoyed in Queen’s Hall and the gardens.

“The architecture of Parliament House, especially the Legislative Council Chamber is quite remarkable.  Over the years there have been refurbishments to the building, but the Council Chamber remains one of the finest examples of the style of building of its time and is well worth a visit.”

Mr Walsh said entry was free and there would be exhibits from all departments.

“The annual Open Day provides a perfect avenue for Victorians to see their Parliament and to gain an appreciation of the grandeur of the building,” Mr Walsh said.
