Applications Open for Loddon Murray Leadership Program

28 September 2015

Leader of The Nationals and Member for Murray Plains, Peter Walsh, has encouraged emerging leaders in the Murray Plains electorate to consider applying for the 2016 Loddon Murray Community Leadership Program.

The program aims to develop and encourage leaders for vibrant and sustainable communities across central and north west Victoria.

Mr Walsh said that each year up to 25 participants of all ages and from diverse backgrounds are accepted into the program across a diverse range of interests including primary industries, business, government and community.

He said the program runs for a period of ten months each year, usually between February and November.

“A minimum of twenty program days is scheduled comprising (on average) two days per month and additional days for the field trips to Canberra and Melbourne.

“Each program day is held in a different part of the region effectively showcasing rural communities, towns and major regional centres.

“This enables participants to travel across the region and beyond to experience first hand the vibrant communities, their innovative projects, and the community leaders who drive them,” Mr Walsh said.

Applications forms and general information about recruitment for the 2016 Loddon Murray Community Leadership Program can be found at www.clim.org.au

“Good leadership is the most important ingredient in building strong communities,” Mr Walsh said.
