A variety of Government grants to support sporting and recreation groups are currently available and Member for Swan Hill, Peter Walsh, is encouraging eligible organisations to consider applying.
“Sporting and recreation groups are essential components of our regional and rural communities,” Mr Walsh said.
“Supporting these groups and the work they do in binding communities together is extremely important and the provision of a variety of grants to do this is high on the Government’s agenda.
“Currently, the Country Action Grant scheme is open for organisations to improve and enhance the skills of coaches, officials and administrators.
“Such training is very important in Club development and in encouraging others to become more involved,” he said.
Other grants available include the Victalent Grants which assist in travel expenses for officials, coaches and athletes.
The Sporting Uniform Grants Program helps clubs reinvigorate themselves by assisting in attracting new members and boosting morale of existing members through the purchase of new uniforms.
“More information about these Grants and many others is available from the website www.grants.dpcdvic.gov.au but I also encourage Clubs and organisations to register themselves with my office so they can be placed on our Grants Database and be informed when other grants become available,” Mr Walsh said.
